LOS ANGELES >> A judge today set bond at $400,000 for a Pomona woman accused of conspiring to procure and smuggle sensitive U.S. space communications technology to her native China, but the release is pending the government's appeal on the grounds she is a flight risk.
Si "Cathy" Chen, 32, appeared for a detention hearing in downtown Los Angeles, handcuffed, wearing white jail clothing and seated with a Mandarin translator as her husband and four-year-old daughter looked on.
