A Glendale man on trial for killing his elderly grandparents with an ax and a hammer in the home they shared in 2015 pleaded no contest to the charges Thursday and faces 41 years to life in state prison, authorities said.
Nathaniel Wayne Scheiern, 35, entered the plea to one count each of first-degree murder and second-degree murder for the crime that occurred sometime between June 24 and June 25, 2015, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office said.
