Universal City >> A heavy security presence blanketed the Metro Red Line Universal City Station early today - one day after authorities disclosed a specific but uncorroborated threat to detonate a device there today.
Amid a throng of media, a helicopter was circling the station, K-9 deputies were seen at the ready, and sheriff's officials were opening and checking large personal bags, such as backpacks and purses, before some passengers were allowed to descend to ride the subway.
