SANTA ANA -- A prosecutor who compares one of the men who escaped from the Central Men's Jail to Hannibal Lecter said in remarks published today that the Sheriff's Department was too lax in how it handled him after it was warned about his violent past.
In a related development, County Supervisor Todd Spitzer said he would recommend that the county boost the $50,000 being offered for information leading to the capture of the three to $200,000.
